Fall Extravaganza & Fall Pajama

Fall Extravaganza

In which we freak out over fall. First, join us for an autumnal field trip out of the studio. Kelsey orders fall drinks and chats it up with her barista. Then we browse for fall decor at Home Goods. It gets real fall.

Back in our falltastic recording studio, we find out what percent autumn we are. Erica is 110% and Kelsey is 100% fall!

We chat about signs of fall in the desert, how we celebrate Falliday, the autumnal holiday that Kelsey made up seven years ago, and exchange Falliday gifts, including Kelsey's favorite fall children's book, The Ox Cart Man. Then, it's the fourth annual fall candle quiz! Erica declares hers to be Nutty Professor by the Fire (actually Roasted Chestnut) and Kelsey says she smells Magical Day at the Pumpkin Patch (actually Cozy Autumn Cuddle)

Kelsey is obsessed with her midtown ankle pants from Athleta which go from active to casual and back again. Erica gives an update on her Zella high-waisted leggings and reports back that they are awesome.

  1. I just love you girls and I always love your fall extravaganza episode. As a girl who lives in the Midwest I often find fall, though beautiful, a bit of a let down b/c the long winter months are close behind it. You guys always make me more excited for the “coziness” and fun that fall can bring. I love listening to how you guys talk about coming out of hiding and being able to enjoy the outdoors more now that your temps in AZ are cooling. We have the same reaction here in the Midwest only in the reverse. We get that happy when it’s spring and we’ve been all cooped up all winter. Thanks for being such fun upbeat podcasters! Happy Fall!! Ps: Kelsey, I too have the athleta midtown pants and LOVE them. They are the best “everywhere” pants and fit amazing.

  2. Have you checked out the graphic novel Ghosts? It’s about Day of the Dead and it was so good! My 8 year old loved it. It might be a bit old for your kids right now, but keep it in mind.
I am LOVING your podcast, btw. I’ve been working through your archive while working, and it’s like I’m listening in on a chat with my girlfriends. The way you guys like cozy so much warms my heart, because coziness is my favorite.

  3. I love the fall episode! I’ve been looking forward to it all week and I saved it for Friday to start the weekend off right. I even got a latte so I can sit at work and listen to it (and I joked with some coworkers that I’m going to bring in an armful of leaves from outside to decorate my cubicle so I could listen to this episode, but I figured that would be quite messy). I was on the zulily website the other day and they had a category of fall clothes called “Falliday” and I was like, omg it’s catching on! You guys are awesome and I’m glad some cooler weather has come to you so you can celebrate all the fall things! Happy fall!

  4. Love your podcast, and especially this episode! It’s been a very warm fall for us so far (Michigan) and it’s really disappointing. I think we’re going to go from summer to winter overnight and not get much of a fall. Booooo!
That also means we haven’t celebrated our Falliday yet, so we still have something fun to look forward to.
Loved Dash’s wisdom over pajama vs pajamas.

  5. I don’t want to disappoint, but I only got 85% fall.

  6. Great episode. Could you share the title of the book that was gifted for Falliday?

  7. Love your podcasts!!! I have been a matrimoney follower for awhile and then started listening to this podcast and love it! We are adopting Falliday as well! Can you link to the Day of the Dead chicldren’s book mentioned on the show?? Thanks again!!

  8. Oh that book sounds great – thank you! and YES to cozy!

  9. Love hearing what a treat this episode is and that you even considered decorating – ha! Oh my gosh that’s too funny! I hope Falliday does catch on!

  10. Hope you are getting some good fall weather soon!

  11. Haha oh man! You can work on it! 😉

  12. Thank you, Kelsey!!! 🙂
