Gift giving action planning

Holiday gift giving 2017: let's do this! We chat about who we give gifts to each year and how we plan, track, and manage our gift giving. We both find Google Docs (or Doogle Gocs if you will) to be super helpful. We also got lots of great tips from a recent episode about planning for the holiday by our podcast friends The Mom Hour.

We chat about our wrapping situations and how much of a hot mess they are. Erica had the genius idea to wrap each of her girls' gifts in different wrapping paper. Previous years have been more along the lines of: "I slap anything with a Santa on it and call it  good." Kelsey is implementing the genius idea of taking off two days in December to finish all gift-related tasks and enjoy some relaxing Christmas time at home.

Gifts we're excited to give and receive include: prickly pear tote bag, Boys in the Boat, The Royal We, artwork by Lauren Brandy, prism picture frame, Crate and Barrel kid's hot chocolate mug, and wooden state ornaments.

Obsessions

Seeing her girls in long pants after the long summer. Kelsey is loving the Pocket Casts app and listening to More Perfect.

  1. Love the podcast, ladies and seriously wish I was one of your neighbors! I’d be thrilled to win a pair of Sudio Sweden ear buds!

  2. My mom (as Santa) always wrapped mine and my brother’s presents in 2 different wrapping papers. It was so fun to come downstairs and see all the gifts—I think kids especially are so visual!
Are you guys able to share the Google Doc spreadsheet you use as a template for us? I’d love to do that this year!

  3. Kelsey,
What was the name of the book you mentioned as your go to book gift for women?
    Thanks😊
    Tammy

  4. Of course – it’s The Royal We. Enjoy!
